چکیده
Coronary artery disease (CAD) commonly occurs in individuals over the age of 45 years. Several studies categorize “young” with CAD or acute myocardial infarction as those below ages 40 and 45. The protection provided by young has slowly been eroded risk factors like smoking, obesity, sedentary lifestyle that are becoming more common among individuals. We report a case 21-year-old male family history premature coronary disease, who presented anterior wall ST elevation infarction. angiogram revealed 100% thrombotic occlusion proximal left descending artery. Further evaluation lesion morphology using optical coherence tomography plaque erosion. Thrombolysis Myocardial Infarction grade III flow was achieved after thrombus aspiration. Stent deployment deferred to avoid need for lifelong medication its associated side effects patient. Due their anti-thrombotic qualities, we also recommend novel oral anticoagulants this situation short-term therapy.

ST-elevation myocardial infarction risk in the very elderly
BACKGROUND Despite the high incidence and mortality of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) among the very elderly, risk markers for this condition remain poorly defined. This study was designed to identify independent markers of STEMI among individuals carefully selected for being healthy or manifesting STEMI in < 24 h. METHODS We enrolled participants aged 80 years or older of...

Background—In the United States, efforts are underway to improve timely access to percutaneous coronary intervention in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The Joint Commission (TJC) and the American College of Cardiology National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) have developed standardized definitions and clinical performance measures for STEMI. The purpose of this study was to dete...
متن کاملHigher mortality in women after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction in very young patients
INTRODUCTION Data on mortality in young patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) when compared to older people or regarding therapeutic strategies are contradictory. We investigate the prognosis of women under 40 after STEMI in a prospective nationwide acute coronary syndrome registry. MATERIAL AND METHODS We analyzed all 527 consecutive men and women (12.3% females) a...

Prehospital ECG (PH-ECG) has been identified as a strategy to help reduce door-to-balloon (D2B) time during emergency treatment with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).1 National Registry of Myocardial Infarction data from 2000–2002 suggest utilization rates of PH-ECG of 10%.2 More recent analysis of data from the National Cardi...
